Lily Suriani Binte Ramlee
Staff Nurse, Home Nursing Foundation
Motivated by her sister, Lily chose to follow in her footsteps and become a community care nurse. Providing expert nursing care to patients in their homes, Lily finds immense value in developing deep connections with her patients and understanding their unique stories and backgrounds.
For Lily, the greatest joy comes from witnessing her patients thrive within their communities, surrounded by loved ones, without the need for hospital readmission. Seeing them regain their independence and quality of life is incredibly fulfilling as it shows the difference her work is creating.
The moments she cherishes the most are when her patients surprise her with kind gestures. One particular encounter with an elderly patient was especially memorable. He would always prepare fruits for her when she visited. When told by her that it wasn’t necessary, he insisted, saying that these fruits didn’t cost much and her care was worth more to him.
As an aspiring advocate for her patients and their families, Lily aims to make a meaningful difference, bringing comfort and healing to those who entrust her with their well-being. For her, care gives her “the power to make a difference in someone’s life.”
